Customers normally place orders using the shopping basket however we do accept orders by telephone. In the event of duplicate orders as a result of receiving a shopping basket order and telephone order at similar time intervals then shopping basket orders will be given priority at all times. Telephone orders do require a certain amount of manual administration and items can remain for sale until they have been flagged up as "sold".
Note that in the event of two customers browsing the website and adding the same item to their shopping basket at the same time the first customer to checkout will have the item.
We want to be fair and reasonable at all times and trust that customers will accept any decision made in connection with duplicate orders as final.
Where a payment is to be made using a debit card or credit card we can only accept orders with this method of payment through the shopping cart checkout when the Paypal payment option is selected. All other payment options are of course available to shopping carts users. When placing an order by phone then payment by cheque or postal order will be required. We do not accept orders by email and would request that orders using electronic channels are placed through the shopping basket.
The best time to guarantee speaking to a Vintage Model Trains representative by telephone is between the hours of 9:00 AM and 14:30 PM (UK Time) Monday to Friday. Outside these hours if the phone is answered ask for Vintage Model Trains and if representatives are unavailable leave a message and they will get back to you. There is a message answering service if the telephone is unanswered.
You can always send an email if you have any questions however please do not place orders by email.
When using the shopping basket and checking out your order appears on our desk as soon as you place it and you receive an order confirmation by email. You will also receive an email to notify you that your goods have been shipped.
