Hornby locos

Hornby R450 LMS Fowler Class 2P 4-4-0 Loco 690

Produced in January 1974 this loco has a crisp sharp mint A appearance with instructions in a near mint box. A top example of this early 70's model.

Hornby R154 SR King Arthur Class N15 4-6-0 Loco 795 Sir Dinadan

This is the original body coloured gloss finish example with gold lettering in mint A condition in an excellent B+ box having some end falpm wear with instructions dated 10 1976 dating this as an example from the first production run.

Hornby R758 BR Class 35 Hymek Diesel Loco D7063

Missing headcode at one end and the headcode box at that end painted black otherwise complete undamaged and a good runner having the power pick ups of the later Hornby 1970's models on both bogies but still running with the classic Triang Hornby motor bogie. Running with the headcode first, the motor bogie is at the rear, the appearance on the track is excellent B+ or better in the early Hornby box with the vacuum formed tray with tray having 2 splits along the edge and the box lid having 2 unglued corners easily repaired.

Hornby R322 LNER Class A3 4-6-2 Loco 4472 Flying Scotsman

The last of the loco drive production models based on the original Triang Hornby model with the X04 motor and produced in 1981. This example has seen some gentle running otherwise the loco has a crisp scuff free sharp mint A appearance. The detailing pack has been opened and the driver and fireman have been removed and are not fitted or included although original instructions are present and the box has some creasing at the ends but is complete with and overall excellent B+ appearance. A very nice example for those who prefer the classic Triang Hornby design.

Hornby R759 GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 Loco 4983 Albert Hall

First offered by Triang Hornby and then Hornby this model from around 1974 has the gloss green finish with the chuff chuff sound tender and is in mint A condition with lining and nameplates 100% in a good B box without paperwork.

Hornby R154 SR Class N15 4-6-0 Loco 795 Sir Dinadan

With the gloss green finish real coal has been placed in tender otherwise loco is in near mint A- condition with very minor lining loss to cab side only and a good runner in a poor box missing end flaps at both ends

Hornby R288 BR Class 47 Diesel Loco 47620 Windsor Castle in Intercity executive grey livery

This loco when offered for sale by Hornby in the late 1980's was offered with a choice of names and numbers to be applied by the owner and this example was named Windsor Castle. The number line is imperfect otherwise the body is crisp mint and the loco is a good runner unboxed.

Hornby R398 LNER Class A1 4-6-2 Loco 4472 Flying Scotsman

This tender drive example produced by Hornby in the early 1980's has minor tarnish to the wire handrails otherwise has a mint appearance with evidence suggesting the loco has had little use with all detailing present and is a good runner.

Hornby R056 BR Britannia Class 4-6-2 Loco 70047 Iron Duke

Produced for the Freemans catalogue in 1975 this example is crisp and mint with evidence of very limited use only (probably on Xmas day only and then packed away) and would be impossible to better unless an example could be found that had not been used. This was the last of the Britannia models produced by Hornby using the Triang Hornby chassis and tooling from 1961 and is without smoke deflectors or tender ladder to keep production costs to a minimum for Freemans. An interesting model in a very diesirable condition.

Hornby R52S BR Jinty 0-6-0 Tank Loco with synchrosmoke

Part of BR totems missing on both sides and isolated pitting to motion rod on one side otherwise lining and printwork 100% in all other areas and structurally 100% and with working smoke unit overall excellent B+ in box with vacuum tray having a split in the bottom under the loco at one end otherwise complete with instructions dated 11 72

Hornby R052 LMS Class 3F Jinty 0-6-0 Tank Loco 16440

In LMS maroon produced in the late 1970's with the X04 motor in near mint A- complete condition unboxed

Hornby R252 LNER Class J73 0-6-0 Tank Loco 8477

In gloss green unlined from around 1976 with X04 motor and complete undamaged in near mint A- condition boxed and a good runner. A nice 1970's Hornby Railways collectable.
