Hornby Dublo BR Duchess of Montrose Loco

!
Loco has the late 1950's matt finish with the body and tender having a very nice unmarked appearance with complete nameplates and with minor paint loss to steam cylinders. Tender does look almost like new and motion gear has a bright appearance. There is remedial work to the third rail pick up in the form of solder which is excessive and needs to be sanded down. the running qualities of the loco is not fantastic and this could be down to poor pick up although the motor does seem to stutter when powered directly so a new armature may be required. Notwithstanding this the loco does have a very good appearance and for somebody who is happy to swap the chassis this example could make a perfect upgrade for one with a tired body. Excellenty B+ appearance unboxed.

Hornby Dublo Duchess of Montrose Train Set

!
Comprising the 1954 edition of the Duchess of Montrose with the gloss paint finish, 4 BR coaches and box. There is no track or paperwork included. This could be split with the contents offered seperately however this is how it arrived in a collection and it makes a good starter set for a new collector. The loco has minor paint loss however from normal  viewing distances both it and the coaches look fine as main lining and printwork is all present with all rolling stock structurally 100%. 3 of the coaches are red and cream with metal wheels and 1 coach is the later chocolate and cream with plastic wheels. The box lid is missing the 4 lid sides and sits on top of the box tray but does have a good unmarked picture. There are plenty of images so please have a look at these and make up your own mind if this is for you. The price is realistic taking everything into account including the early provinence of the loco and for somebody who wants a restoration project then this is ideal.
